On the night of February 24, the Russian Federation launched an invasion of Ukraine. It all started with rocket attacks on airports, airfields, military units and weapons depots. The attack continued – bombing cities, killing soldiers, destroying residential areas and homes, killing civilians, sending in saboteurs.
This is not a “rescue operation” to “protect” Ukraine's eastern regions – this is a war! The occupation of Ukrainian cities, the murder of civilians in their homes, executions in the streets, the killing of children, the bombing of reservoirs and power plants. And this must end!
Chronology of Past Events: Lies vs Reality
As early as October 30, 2022, the Washington Post reported that troops and military equipment were being brought to the borders with Ukraine. At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Maria Zakharova said this was a “false campaign”. Later, Dmitry Peskov also said that “Russia poses no threat to anyone”, and such statements and statements are “camouflage to cover up the aggressive thoughts” of Kiev, which wants to solve the problem in eastern Ukraine by military force.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on January 21, during a speech in Geneva, responded to a journalist's question about the war: “You claim that we are going to attack Ukraine, although we have explained many times that it is not so..” He laughed at a similar question on February 15th (9 days before the start of the war).
Putin himself has repeatedly refuted statements and statements that it is planned to bring Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine. For example, in a meeting with Manuel Macron on February 8, he said: “The movement of our troops on their own, I want to emphasize, the territory presents itself as a threat of Russian invasion – in this case, Ukraine. Allegedly, both the Baltic countries and other states – our neighbors – feel in danger. On what basis is not very clear.”.
On February 22, during the recognition of the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, he indicated: “We hope, and I want to emphasize this, that all controversial issues will be resolved during the negotiations between the current Kiev authorities and the leadership of these republics.”
On February 24, Russian troops attacked airfields, military units and weapons depots across most of Ukraine. Immediately after that, the troops crossed the border along the territory of Russia and Belarus and launched an offensive in the interior with military aircraft, helicopters, tanks, armored military equipment and weapons.
Border posts and nearby towns were bombed, especially in the regions of Chernihiv, Sumy, Luhansk and Kharkiv. The bombing of major Ukrainian cities and capture attempts began, which were repulsed by the ZSU.
The invaders also crossed the sea – from the Crimea, military equipment passed through the Kherson region and groups landed along the sea line.
Everyone was waiting for this but no one believed it would happen
In 2014, the entire world turned a blind eye to the attack on eastern Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea. The leaders of the United States, Germany and other countries “expressed concern” and, in fact, asked Ukraine not to resist, not to provoke the Russian Federation. They helped Ukraine financially, but at the same time they presented difficult conditions for receiving money; refused to supply weapons for the defense of Lugansk and Donetsk; did not contribute to help against the occupation of the country. The world started to react (impose sanctions) only after Russian troops shot down a Malaysian Boeing and 297 people died.
Russia, intoxicated by the success of how easily and with impunity they took Crimea and started aggression in the Southeast, decided that this time everything would be so simple. The West's inaction became the reason Russia believed in impunity and permissiveness – it launched a full-scale war against Ukraine.
Even Ukraine has underestimated how insane and aggressive Moscow's leadership is and how passive the Russians are in choosing power and reacting to Putin's decisions.
Ukrainians, like almost everyone else, did not fully believe that Putin and his henchmen would be so self-confident, so inadequate, that they would decide to attack Ukraine.
The world's reaction to the war in Ukraine
Just a day after the start of the war, the world began to react and impose sanctions, including:
- Several banks (VTB Group, Sovcombank, Novikombank, Promsvyazbank, Otkritie) have been sanctioned, which means that users will not be able to withdraw money from cards of that bank abroad, they will not be able to use Apple Pay, Google Pay, use them to buy products online online, pay for services on the Internet.
- They have imposed sanctions against several companies, which affects the financial, energy, transport, technology sectors, as well as visa policy.
- Ban on the export of goods for the aeronautical and space industry.
- Prohibition on the supply of goods, equipment and technologies for oil refining.
- The ban was introduced on government loans from American and European companies.
Shares of Russian companies on the world market fell, the dollar and the euro fell to an all-time low.
Today all over the world there are actions in support of Ukraine. Countries help financially by sending money and humanitarian aid. Volunteers come to Ukraine from different countries who are ready to help defend the country from the aggressor and enemy troops.
Several countries (in particular Lithuania, Latvia, the Czech Republic) have suspended issuing visas to citizens of the Russian Federation.
Hacking group Anonymous has declared a “cyber war” across the Russian Federation. They have already successfully hacked the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense and published in the public domain a link to the names of ministry officials, their telephone numbers and e-mails. Also, immediately after that, RT, the website of the Kremlin, the government and the State Duma, stopped opening. Anonymous recently published an additional message for Putin:
They also hacked the website of Belarusian arms maker Tetraedr, which is helping Putin in the war.
Twitter blocked the possibility of registering new users from Russia.
On February 26, all EU countries decided to disconnect Russia from the SWIFT interbank system.
Appeal to residents of the Russian Federation
- Ukraine and the Ukrainian army are strong, brave and invincible! During the three days of the “blitzkrieg”, the invaders did not receive a single tactical advantage and will not receive one in the future. Ukraine will resist and face any enemy.
- Russia will not win and will not achieve anything, because the Ukrainians are a nation, united and prepared. Ukraine defends its country, its freedom, its independence, its family. Absolutely all united against the enemy.
- At the moment, more than 3,500 Russian soldiers killed on the territory of Ukraine are already known, and many Russians surrender or have been taken prisoner. In just a few hours on February 25, over 1,000 enemy soldiers were destroyed – such losses over such a long period of time have never been seen in the history of the Russian Federation, in any armed conflict. We remind you that this all the soldiers of these armies are your children, brothers, husbands and fathers. Many parents are told that the soldiers were sent on business trips to safe regions: the Krasnodar territory, the Tambov, Saratov, Kemerovo regions or the borders with China. But now they are in Ukraine, dying on Putin's orders and killing of their own accord.
The Russian Federation, its soldiers, its people are killing Ukrainians, destroying Ukraine. The Russian Federation and the soldiers hoped that Ukraine would welcome them with flowers, they would all lay down their weapons and surrender, but it is not so. Enemies in your country are not welcome, and Ukraine is ready to fight back.
The Russian Federation and all the inhabitants of the country are able to change what is happening! Ukraine and the whole world are calling on you to picket, protest and force the authorities to change their minds – it is necessary to stop the war against Ukraine.

Many public figures, journalists, businessmen, politicians, artists, bloggers have already publicly spoken out against the war and are asking the Russian president to stop the war, but it is not enough while the rest of Russians remain silent and inactive. The responsibility for the war does not lie with just one dictator, but with all Russians who do nothing and remain silent.
On television in Russia, they do not show the speeches of the President of Ukraine, which is happening in cities. If they show, they distort what is happening as if the Ukrainians themselves are shooting at their own people, which is an absolute lie. Everyone now has access to the Internet, has the opportunity to read the international media, look for official data, everyone uses the telegram and can see the TRUTH. You just need to open them and read them.
