What makes successful entrepreneurs? Perseverance!

Entrepreneurship is not just a career to build in the office. Whether a person has a new idea, a “talent” to run a business, the ability to motivate oneself and others, the ability to build and grow a business, as well as the courage to make the right decisions – all these are components of a successful entrepreneur. But what unites these ingredients is tenacity. It must be exercised day after day, year after year.

Of course, not all successful companies have a development goal and a goal they strive for. For most companies, the main objective is to overcome obstacles, increase sales and make money… and so on, ad infinitum. And it is perseverance that will help you and your business succeed.

Google hasn't always been successful.

Did you know that Larry Page and Sergey Brin committed to creating a standalone search engine before being paid money to implement this idea.… They pushed the idea hard and it worked.

In 1999, Google ranked seventh among the top ten search engines. It took years for the startup to gain critical mass, dominate the market and become the most popular search engine in the world.

Bezos's purposeful Darwinism

Jeff Bezos became one of the best entrepreneurs in e-commerce when he founded Amazon in 1994. But his idea was not a big vision that would allow a small business to survive in the market. Exactly Bezos' tenacity and focus on results have allowed Amazon to become one of the best platforms. Bezos devised his own survival strategy, which he calls “focused Darwinism”.

As a result, only companies that offer the best products and services, that have a better promotion strategy and a more professional leader remain in the market – the strongest survive.

Jobs: “Perseverance is the hallmark of successful entrepreneurs.”

In a 1995 interview, Steve Jobs said:

“I am convinced that persistence separates successful entrepreneurs from unsuccessful ones. It is difficult and you will have to invest time and effort into it. But when faced with problems, most people give up. And I don't judge them, it's very difficult. ”

In fact, Apple was on the brink of bankruptcy when Jobs returned as CEO in 1997. The company played a significant role in the creation of the personal computer.

Interestingly, MP3 players, smartphones and tablets have been around for many years. And even before Apple hit the market with a superior product that was meticulously crafted to the highest standards. But today it is this leading company in mobile technology and equipment. This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Jobs' persistence. He developed a system of rules that allowed him to succeed.

VC: “What I admire most is perseverance.”

In a recent article, “Tenacity,” venture capitalist Fred Wilson said this is one of the qualities he most admires in leaders.

“All the successful companies I've been a part of have gone through periods when not all ideas worked, when it took a long time to complete an important task, and managers had doubts about the company's success. Employees are starting to lose faith, the media is getting very violent with this project and the leader must constantly fight this.”

Wilson's own investments include Twitter, Zynga, Etsy, Tumblr, Feedburner and Foursquare. Many were criticized and faced problems, but the tenacity of the leadership put the companies first among the competitors.

Indeed, persistence and dedication make the company one of the best in the market. As in real life, successful companies must continually strive for existence and leadership. And being a successful leader, the entrepreneur is not just a job, but a way of life.
