You might be a little confused – even my domain name says there is no passive income… So where is the truth?
OK – I'll let you in on a secret. There is no passive income on the Internet ! And please read this article carefully – over 99% of bloggers do not earn a decent income from their websites (blogs, niche websites and other websites)!
Each time, when you want to make money online, you must work – sometimes more, sometimes less. And in this post I'll show you what it is passive income online , what skills should you have as a blogger and five ideas to make money for bloggers . These concepts don't need a lot of time, sometimes you can forget about your online business for a few months (so they are ALMOST passive , but not passive!), and therefore are ideal for bloggers .
But before I reveal these 5 concepts to you, please let me tell you what passive income means to me.
Therefore, passive income means an income generated regularly, without any effort. Only effort is (if any) required at the beginning when you set up an account with your bank
Examples of passive income:
- Interest on deposits
-real estate income (if they don't need active management!)
– copyright (of written books, screenplays, software programs)
-pension (when you retire you will receive some money as a regular monthly pension)
Online passive income and means for me:
- Hard work at first (maximum one month of effort, but you can work 16 hours a day)
- Automation for almost everything, e.g. purchase, payment, etc. (you should simplify everything as much as possible!)
- Little time to maintain it (monthly should be less than one business day)
- Possibility to delegate tasks to someone else (so you can go on your monthly vacation)
Now you know what passive income (both regular and online) means to me. Does that mean the same to you? But let's examine other aspects of blogging for money.
As a powerful blogger :

1) You are an excellent writer (if you are not a good writer, read 10 Article Writing Tips, How to Write Attractive Articles
2) You know, how to get a lot of traffic (otherwise read: 8 useful tips, how to promote your blog )
3) Do you have a large email list (if not, read this post 12 Action Steps to Build a Profitable Email List from Scratch
4) Are you aware of this, of how your blog can succeed (if you are not aware, you should read my guest post 3 Vital Tips for Creating a Successful Blog
With the assumptions mentioned above, you are now ready to learn 5 money making ideas for bloggers. All of them, when used correctly, meet my requirements on passive income online. Here you are:
- Prepare an online product (e.g. an ebook)
You can make money selling it yourself or creating affiliate channels to sell it. In this case, you will share some profits with your affiliates (as a commission).
- Create niche websites
Your revenue will be generated by placing contextual ads on this website. The best choice for contextual advertising is Google Adsense, alternatively you can choose Chitika for example
- product website
It is a mixture of the points mentioned above. You can create an online product (it can also be an ebook), for example the WordPress plugin. But you can also promote someone else's product (in which case you will get commission from the product creator. And you sell that product through your optimized website.
- Use your email list
If your list is big enough, you can try to monetize it through affiliate links, sponsored emails, or paid reviews.
- Make a paid subscription website
It's a very simple earning model – you create great content, limit it to paid access only, and invite your readers (who trust you, it's worth paying for).
